Ailsa Stirling - Pilates
Hello, my name is Ailsa.
I am a Chartered, specialist musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, and Pilates instructor. Here at The Loft I am teaching mat Pilates classes.
I completed my Pilates training with the APPI and completed the matwork 1, 2 and ante post-natal Pilates courses. I am also a trained and experienced teacher of reformer Pilates, barre fitness and physio yoga.
Pilates is a form of exercise originally named Contrology – the art of control. It was designed to strengthen and balance the body to both rehabilitate and prevent injury. This principle remains true with the added focus of toning muscle and improving flexibility. The exercises use precise movements, concentration, and flow to create correct movement patterns while providing a satisfying workout. It is low weight bearing and has emphasis on core strengthening so is perfect if recovering from injuries such as back pain, joint pain, and pelvic weaknesses.
As a Physiotherapist I have the skills required to recognise incorrect movement patterns and weaknesses and how to correct these. Classes are modified to the individuals so that they are safe, challenging, and enjoyable for all whether you are a complete beginner or more advanced.
For more information and to sign up for classes please contact me via my Facebook page (@ailsastirlingpilates), or email me at ailsastirlingpilates@gmail.com
Thanks, Ailsa x
