Danielle Hunter - CBT Therapist
My passion for CBT is growing every day. The years studying to become a counsellor changed my life for the better. It gave me so much insight and wisdom internally and externally and I want to use these skills to help other people through various problems in everyday life.
Behaviour therapy helps people reduce the connections between difficult situations and their normal reactions to them such as fear, depression, anger or self-defeating behaviour. It also teaches them how to calm the mind and body, so they can feel better, think more clearly and make better decisions.
Cognitive therapy teaches people how certain thinking patterns cause symptoms bygiving a distorted picture of what’s going on in their life and makes them feel anxious, depressed or angry.
When combined into CBT, behaviour therapy and cognitive therapy provide very powerful tools for stopping the symptoms and getting their life on a more satisfying track. It allows the individual to develop these skills and be their own therapist.
CBT supports many mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression in various forms and can also focus on confidence, self esteem and relationship issues. If you need support, please get in touch for more information.
I am a fully qualified CBT practitioner and a member of professional body BABCP as well as being fully insured. My background began in early childcare and moved on to supporting vulnerable young people. I have qualifications in childcare, social care and counselling and I am dedicated to each and every client to allow them valuable time and support to take the hardest step in interpersonal learning
